Working as part of an Agile team, focused on user-centred design and experiences for the HMCTS Common Platform programme. Leading a design team to develop a service to help equip overseas investors with the tools for setting up a business in the UK, this needed to align with the Britain is GREAT campaign.

We developed user journeys across multiple platforms, aligning the product with GDS guidelines and integrating with a bespoke content management system.

We created user-centred experiences and platform designs for high profile clients like Pfizer and the Phoenix Group. The throughput and complexity of work meant we needed to design at pace and keep consistency when using external agencies.

I introduced a new, user-centred design system based on the Atomic methodology, breaking work into atoms, molecules, organisms, templates and pages.

As Interactive Design Director and digital design lead at BBH London, I managed the interactive design for the Tesco.com and Tesco Bank accounts and supported the above-the-line campaigns through a variety of digital channels.

At AstraZeneca, one of its significant challenges was in developing new products and services for cancer fighters. Working as a service designer in London and Washington in a joint venture between the pharmaceutical firm and Publicis, we worked on new services to improve their well-being.

Through research and workshops we mapped out overarching creative ideas with top-level user flows, then in mini-workshops presented internally to colleagues and stakeholders, we would vote on the top three products or services, go away and kick off a Beta to develop further with cancer fighters in a co-creation capacity.

A number of successful products and services went live, including the hugely successful platform LVNG — A network service to support those fighting lung cancer.

McV_01

Leading interactive design to support the UX on creating possibly the cutest, but the least useful thing in the app store:
the McVitie’s iKitten. An augmented reality app that allows you to personalise your very own British Blue kitten, dressing it up in purrrfect (sorry) accessories and making it play with a selection of toys.

In less than two weeks after launch, the app was downloaded 59k times, saw 2.2m kitten interactions and trended on the App Store on its day of launch.
